The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) launched the Chartered Engineer (Singapore) Registry at the Opening Ceremony of the inaugural World Engineers Summit (WES) 2013 at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre.

The Chartered Engineer Registry aims to provide professional recognition to qualified engineers across all sectors. Particularly, for IES members who are engineers in branches of engineering that do not require them to be registered as Professional Engineers. Being registered as a Chartered Engineer (Singapore) will be an external validation of your experience, expertise and practising competence; and is a quality mark to differentiate your professional standing in your branch of engineering.

Through the Chartered Engineer (Singapore) programme, the IES aims to raise engineering standards in Singapore by adding value to engineers, employers, government, business and society.
