CHARTERED ENGINEER (SINGAPORE) REGISTRY
The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) launched the Chartered Engineer (Singapore) Registry at the Opening Ceremony of the inaugural World Engineers Summit (WES) 2013 at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre. The Chartered Engineer Registry aims to provide professional recognition to qualified engineers across all sectors. Particularly, for IES members who are engineers in sectors of engineering that do not require them to be registered as Professional Engineers. Being registered as a Chartered Engineer (Singapore) will be an external validation of your experience, expertise and practicing competence; and is a quality mark to differentiate your professional standing in your sector of engineering.
11 industry leaders of engineering organisations signed a Pledge to support Chartered Engineer Certification Programme
The Chartered Engineer (Singapore) programme was first rolled out in the sectors of engineering in Aerospace, Chemical & Process, Environmental & Water, Marine and Systems engineering at the WES 2013 Opening Ceremony.
Through the Chartered Engineer (Singapore) programme, the IES aims to raise engineering standards in Singapore by adding value to engineers, employers, government, business and society.
A Chartered Engineer of IES is someone who has shown commitment to engineering profession and has attained, through peer review system, an internationally recognised and respected mark of competence in his or her area of Practice.
